This series of works utilizes the veracity and verisimilitude of realist painting to question the realness of digital imaging cultures and the reliability of images in the digital age. The works appropriate source images from online communities who have constructed various hyper real environments of post-apocalyptic scenarios that are subsequently rendered through analogue painting realism. The series examines our critical dissonance to impending catastrophe, the tradition of the romantic sublime and our critical relationship to images and illusions.
